About me
Portrait of Shashank Jaitly

Hi, I'm Shashank Jaitly — a software engineer working on backend systems, the APIs, databases, queues, and pipelines that sit behind the products people actually see.

I'm largely self-taught. That path led me through a handful of startups where I got to see products built, broken, and rebuilt from the inside — and it's where I picked up a stubborn interest in the unglamorous parts of software: reliability, data, and the systems that hold everything together.

I write here mostly about things I've debugged, load-tested, migrated, or regretted. The posts are the notes I wish I'd found when I was searching at 2 a.m., so they lean practical: real query plans, real failure modes, real trade-offs.

Away from a terminal, I read too much about aviation and not nearly enough fiction.
